JSON to Zod Converter v2

Paste real JSON and get four synchronized outputs at once: TypeScript types, a Zod schema, a Pydantic model, and JSON Schema. Everything runs entirely in your browser memory with zero tracking and zero server storage.

1

Paste your JSON

Paste an API response, drop a JSON file, or load one of five prebuilt samples.

2

Configure Options

Toggle format checks, discriminated unions, enums, strict keys, or primitive coercion.

3

Export or Test

Copy individual targets, download files, copy all outputs, or test payloads live.

From raw JSON payload to inferred validation schemas. Reads every array element so missing properties become optional without discarding real data.

High-precision regex heuristics map ISO timestamps, dates, times, emails, strict UUIDs, GUIDs, URLs, and IP addresses to exact Zod v4 and Pydantic types.

Keep your compile-time types, runtime frontend validators, Python backend models, and API specifications strictly synchronized from one single inference tree.

Why This Converter Is Different

Most JSON tools emit a single target and inspect only the first element of an array. If subsequent objects contain optional fields or alternative variants, traditional converters fail or produce fragile schemas. PromptStaging reads every item in every array: fields missing in some elements become optional, polymorphic objects keyed by tag split into discriminated unions, and same-shape nested objects are automatically deduplicated into clean reusable interfaces.

Because everything executes 100% in local browser memory via native JavaScript and the Blob API, sensitive database exports and internal payloads never touch any third-party server.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it send my JSON anywhere?

No. All inference runs in this page, in your browser memory. Close the tab and the input is gone.

Which Zod version does the output target?

Zod v4 style: z.object or z.strictObject, top-level format functions like z.email(), z.uuid(), z.guid(), z.url(), z.ipv4(), z.ipv6(), z.int(), and z.iso helpers, chained with .nullable() and .optional(), and z.infer for the matching TypeScript type.

Which Pydantic version does the output target?

Pydantic v2, using BaseModel classes, list[...] generics, ConfigDict for field aliases, and the str | None style for optional fields. It needs Python 3.10 or later.

Why is a field optional when my sample has it?

Because another item in the same array does not have it. That is real API behavior, and marking it optional stops your validator from rejecting valid responses.

Does it infer enums from short strings?

Enum inference is off by default because a sample cannot prove a value list is closed. When you enable the Infer string unions as enums option, string fields with 2 to 10 distinct values across at least 3 occurrences are emitted as enums.

What is a discriminated union and when does the converter emit one?

A discriminated union is a union of object types that share a common tag field with distinct literal values. The converter emits one when array items share a discriminator key with distinct shapes for each tag value, such as page_view and purchase events.

Can I test my generated schema on this page?

Yes. Use the Test it tab to paste a second JSON payload. The built-in client engine tests your payload against the inferred type tree and reports passing status or exact property mismatch paths without needing external libraries.
